Bodies & Souls

These images were captured during a stay in New Orleans.

At the bend in a street, after a busy day exploring and wandering from bar to bar to enjoy the music.

This music, Jazz, is so alive, never still, always in motion, spontaneous, improvised and enriched by each person's unique life experience.

By fully accepting this game, we free our inner flow and allow it to express itself freely, with only our body and physical abilities (which can be trained to achieve full self-expression) as limits.

It is literally the reflection of our soul, which we let shine for a moment and soak up our environment.

The timing was perfect, and what luck to have come across this street brass band and to have been able to see these dancers start dancing spontaneously before joining together.

In retrospect, after conscious reflection on these impromptu photographs, they perfectly embody my vision of a Jazzman's artistic expression.

I wanted to purify the images to better capture the pure expression of their dances.

In a way, by removing them from all external artifice, it allows them to shine at the center of these photographs.
