Monet's Water Lilies
Giverny and Monet's Water Lilies, what can I say? The village and its surroundings are places where nature is still very present.
On the road, well before arriving at the village, the fields with their poppies and flowering flax put me in the mood. That of appeasement, and the preparation to be able to appreciate a whole palette of colors.
A few lines to represent my state of mind before my arrival.
Once there, the post-Covid context allowed me to be able to stroll around the village and Monet's garden without the massive crowds of tourist coaches and thus to be able to make the most of this experience and perhaps be able to touch on the painter's mind.
Indeed, Giverny is a place that we feel is conducive to artistic creation; something in the air and its environment inspires us, or at least inspires me.
Once in the garden, I let myself wander through its paths where the gardeners do a wonderful job, until I find myself near the pond.
Naturally, I start taking pictures, and gradually the paintings are printed in my camera.
I really didn't know what to expect, and what about the environment, my experience or my subconscious allowed me to obtain these shots, without a doubt a mixture of the three.
I wanted this contrast to highlight the colors, the material, the tangibility of our immediate environment, in a stretch of water that can be perceived as dark, even black.
Like a lotus, people, that we ourselves can embody at times, bright, full of life in their own context which despite everything can be difficult. These people are like these beautiful flowers that emerge when we are depressed to, in turn, find colors and thus bring positivity to our environment.
Images simply to contemplate, to appreciate and which I hope can bring a moment of plenitude to those who need it in our hectic daily lives.
